Chinese cuisine is one of the most popular, easy and delicious ethnic cuisines. A technique that is widely used in this cuisine is stir-frying, which originated in China and in recent centuries has spread into other parts of Asia and the rest of the world.
What does stir-fry mean?
Stir-fry is a way of cooking that means “frying while stirring”. It’s a technique of cooking quickly over high heat in a specific pan called “wok”. In stir-frying all ingredients must be cut into small, same size pieces and fry them in a lightly oiled pan by stirring them constantly so as to remain crispy.
Tip No 1
Cut into very thin and uniform pieces the vegetables and the meat or chicken that you will use to cook quickly.
Tip No 2
Marinate your ingredients with soy sauce, sweet chili Thai or another ethnic sauce of your choice.
Tip No 3
Use a wok for stir-frying. The wok is ideal as the heat is concentrated at the bottom of the pan and so the stir-fried ingredients are cooked quickly.
Tip No 4
Do not overfill your wok with ingredients. The secret is to have enough space for the ingredients to “circulate” in the pan and stir constantly.
Good luck!
